Welcome to the Corringham Shotokan Thames Karate International webpage.

Corringham Club is part of the Thames Karate International organisation, which was started by Sensei Ray Fuller (8th Dan) in 1975.

Corringham Shotokan Club used to be better known as Ockendon Shotokan Club, which was run by Alex Wyllie (5th Dan) for many many years.  1000s of students went through the Ockendon Club which had a great reputation in karate as Alex Wyllie still does today.

We train twice per week at the Corringham dojo (please see address and timings), plus there are many other clubs around which train on different evenings and are run by other Thames instructors.  Corringham have regular gradings (every three months), squad training for kumite and kata (twice monthly), various competitions and have a summer camp once per year.

The organisation is a non profit making association with instructors dedicating their time to train you.  Monies taken for lessons etc is just to cover costs and any monies left over, go towards equipment and competitions etc.

Thames Karate International are official members of the English Traditional Karate Board
